The Friends of Lancasterian School, West Didsbury, is an independent charity that works exclusively with children from Greater Manchester who have sensory impairments and/or multiple physical disabilities. The charity supports the work of Lancasterian, a specialist school that provides a wide range of support services for children across Manchester.
Through running a Valentines Dinner Dance and Auction, (supported by Siemens, West Didsbury), at the Lowry Hotel, on 7 February 2015 they hope to raise £25,000 towards the development of new play spaces for children with disabilities and their families within the area

Wine and Wallop in West Didsbury will be hosting a charity swap shop event on Sunday 1st February 2015 from 3pm - 5pm. Organised by Syeda Khatun, the proceeds will be going to Dr Fiona Thistlethwaite's gastro-oesophageal cancer research fund.
The event will be held in the upstairs function room and will cost £5.00 per person, you are invited to bring your unwanted items and take away items which other people don’t want.
There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by a number of local businesses including Pizza Express, Lisa Stannard Yoga, Evies Retreat, The Shak, Macleod & Bradley, Steranko, Moth and A Taste of Honey, amongst others. Local jazz singer and pianist, Lucy Sassoon, will also be performing downstairs in the bar.
