Heaton Arts Festival is a festival that is rooted in its local community. It celebrates local people, places and opportunities. Founded in 2011 by local artists; Hayley Hare, Mick Smith & Aly Smith as part of voluntary outreach art projects alongside the artist (and ex-ward Councillor) Geraldine Ormonde.
The festival was started to give artists of all stages of their career and practice a chance to exhibit their work, perform and most importantly engage with their local community. It was also a chance for the local community to engage with art.
This festival is about fun. It is something for the grown-ups as well as young people with workshops aimed at all levels.
